This black glossy adhesive motorcycle safety tape is blends in with black surfaces during the day and shines a bright white reflection at night. The reflective tape kit includes 24 inches of 1″ wide, 24 inches of 2″ wide, and 12 inches of 4″ wide black reflective motorcycle tape.
The tape kit can be cut into strips, special shapes, or pinstripes, and easily applied to motorcycle surfaces, helmets, leather, boot heels, and even saddlebags to make you visible to oncoming or following headlights. The self-adhesive strips bond exceptionally well to any smooth, clean, dry surface. Be seen, Be safe!
How This Material Reflects Light
Amanet Reflective Tapes and Stickers contain a layer of microscopic lenses coated onto the surface. An auto’s lights hit this and the bright light will shine back to the driver’s eyes, making you visible from a very long distance away. The best way to test this at home is to put the reflective material at approximately 20 feet away, flat against a wall, at eye level, directly in front of the sticker or tape. For testing once installed, put the headlights of an auto at approximately 200 to 300 feet directly behind the bike, on a level road. At just 10 feet away you won’t see the brightest reflection because the angle of the headlight-reflector-eye is too large (See the illustration below). In the real world 10 to 20 feet away is too close for a car to first notice you and stop. The reflective tape or sticker is designed so an auto can see you and your bike hundreds of feet away.

Increases visibility at night.,
This material is hiighly reflective and increases my Honda 750 ACE’s visibility at night. However, if this is placed at an angle other than 90 degrees to the viewer the visibility is diminished a great deal. There is enough material to highlight more than one bike. You need a utility knife to cut this material, but it is easy to work with and comes with good instructions. Would have given a 5 rating if reflectivity was greater at a viewing angle of less than perpendicular. I think this is a good deal and would purchase again for safety’s sake. Shipping was very fast and all was as described.

Increased Visibility…but…,
First I would like to say that the shipping on this item was outstanding. I received my item within 3 days after placing the order. Kudos to BikerHiway. Now for the review.
The black reflective tape works as good as can be expected. It is BLACK, therefore it will not reflecte as much light as does white reflective tape. The same holds true for the Red reflective tape and any other non-white colors. I digress. The black tape does reflect light and is virtually unseen on black items. I have a black motorcycle and placed a few strips of this material at key spots and to the novice, would go unnoticed during the day. I used this on fiberglass and metal and the the material was easiy to apply…just clean the spot first. I am not sure how well it will stick on soft items, such as saddlebags or seats.
I would but this item again when needed. This is easily cut with sharp sissors.

works well, but not in all circumstances.,
the tape works well.. highly reflective, but only at a narrow angle with a direct headlight. This is as described but will not provide the same level of wide angle visual safety as other more conventional tapes. This tape suits people who want the black look as a priority.
